Thomas Calvard

Tom Calvard (he/him) is a Senior Lecturer in Organisation Studies and Human Resource Management based in the Business School. He is also currently EDI Director for the School, and collaborates with various colleagues on various topics relating to equity, diversity and inclusion practices in workplace contexts. Originally a psychology graduate, Tom now applies psychology to workplace and management topics, alongside drawing on other social scientific fields.
Key research interests include:
- The effects of diversity, technology, ethics and change on employees' experiences in the workplace.
- How employees navigate and make sense of different perspectives and interpretations across their teams and organisations.
Current and notable research projects/ publications:
- Tom is currently engaged in a variety of ongoing research projects with various collaborators, relating to investigating The Lived Experiences of Bisexual Employees in UK Workplaces; The Lived Experiences of Disabled Staff in Higher Education; and The Well-Being of Widening Participation Students in Higher Education, among others.
